While the band has certainly had a relatively tumultuous past few years, Aussie post-hardcore/metalcore band The Amity Affliction brought back some of their trademark aggression with a surprise signing to Pure Noise Records, as well as their newest song “All My Friends Are Dead”. Needless to say, older fans of the band were awfully impressed, and why not? While it’s true that the band’s last 3 records helped gain the band international success, many critics also found the band’s maturation a bit lacking.
All of this being said, there’s plenty of ways the band can create new music that’s both relevant and interesting, and while the aforementioned song was a great start, it appears we’ll have more answers in the new year as the band seems to be gearing up to release new music.
Just a day ago, the band released a teaser of new music on their Instagram, directing fans to the account via their other social media outlets, too. If a new post from Lambgoat is to be believed, the band’s Pure Noise Records album debut is likely to be sometime in February, though we also know that a webstore listing was taken down as well. Regardless of when a new record might be released, the clip of new music does indeed sound pretty heavy – so if that’s what you’re into, you should probably be excited.
