It’s no secret that being a musician is less financially viable than ever before. With physical albums sales plummeting to record lows, musicians have had to get creative to even survive – everything from crowdfunding campaigns for new albums and Patreon campaigns to keep content thriving have been options for much-needed monetary injections. Even established bands aren’t immune to the new reality – just ask Sheffield’s While She Sleeps.
Reaping the fruits and rewards of their labor after many years slogging it out in a crowded music scene, Sheffield’s While She Sleeps are on a fast track to stardom. Really, they have been since the release of their proper debut full-length This Is The Six, an onslaught of metallic hardcore fury that rocketed the band to serious attention in the UK and beyond. 2 albums later, the band is gearing up for their 4th full-length record, dropping this March.
The band’s new single, “The Guilty Party”, is a total curveball when it comes to reinventing themselves. However, unlike some acts, “The Guilty Party” sounds nothing less than While She Sleeps at their core – catchy, anthemic songwriting that still brings heavy weight along with it. The new single – and upcoming record – will be supported by a recently announced North American tour supporting Architects and Thy Art Is Murder. Stops at Welcome To Rockville and Epicenter are included in that string of tour dates.
On an obvious quest for rock and metal domination, British breakout band While She Sleeps have released a second single, “Haunt Me”, off their upcoming 4th full-length album. A band that’s put their noses to the grindstone since day one, their hard work and quality songwriting are really breaking through to a deserved larger audience. The new song follows up initial single “Anti-Social”, released a couple months ago.
With a huge 2019 ahead of them, including what should be the band’s North American breakthrough on the spring festival circuit, the Sleeps Brothers are going global. Stream “Haunt Me” below, and stay tuned for what should be a fantastic North American tour announcement shortly.
Talk about an album that’ll be considered very influential in the not so distant future. While She Sleeps’ This Is The Six, released in 2012, was a real watershed moment for the band. While building their fanbase overseas took a bit more time, the metalcore band got off to a hot start on this record, which was released 6 years ago today.
