We don’t need to tell you that Halsey embodies the pop-punk warrior in all of us. When she’s not selling out huge venues as ome of the fastest rising pop stars in recent memory, Halsey can usually be found at other shows – like joining Panic! At The Disco in Mexico, or attending a The Story So Far show.
Wait, what? Yeah, that’s a thing that happened last night. As the pop-punk band is touring in support of their 4th album, Proper Dose, Halsey made an appearance – and it’s no surprise that Twitter predictably went into a frenzy. Not that “OMG my favorite musician listens to others genres of music” is necessarily news, but it does speak to a subsection of diversified music fans that a big-time pop musician is also a fan of pop-punk. We approve. Maybe Halsey will start that pop-punk side project?
If you aren’t up to speed, The Story So Far‘s vocalist Parker Cannon kicked a girl off stage while she was attempting to take a selfie during their performance. There has been a huge amount of outrage attacking the vocalist and calling it a violent assault. A new video has surfaced on twitter which shows the kick from a different angle.
We’re pretty stoked to bring you our latest interview with Kelen Capener (bass) of pop-punk The Story So Far. They’ve experienced monumental growth since their debut full-length on Pure Noise Records (2011’s Under Soil And Dirt) and they just finished up a run on Warped Tour on the main stage.
Check out the audio interview after the jump. These guys are poised to be absolutely massive – hell, they are already.
