The band has solidified their lineup with former Texas In July frontman, J.T. Cavey. Fans need not worry – “Orchid” delivers listeners with what they’ve come to expect from these southern boys: riffs, melodies, and beautiful lyricism.

I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to replace a vocalist. You’ve got to memorize possibly dozens of songs, and you surely have to prepare yourself for the inevitable backlash from fans who think you won’t measure up to the previous guy. That’s what makes the story of new Texas In July vocalist JT Cavey so special.
Going from making Youtube covers of his favorite bands to frontman of one of metalcore’s rising stars takes work and dedication, but if JT’s first effort with the band (Bloodwork, which saw the highest charting numbers and best reviews of the band’s career) is any indication, the boundless energy he brings to the table and the band’s continued progression will see them trending upward for a long time to come.
After the jump, be sure to check out our latest interview with JT, where we discuss tour life, video games, and how he managed to land the position he’s at now. Thanks a bunch to JT for giving us some of his time in a hot, sweaty van.
