Upon the release of their album Gossip in 2017, Sleeping With Sirens were met with near-critical derision for their apparent lack of inspiration and quality, which sapped most of the energy from the album. While likely their least-effective album to date, there was always hope that the band would recapture the energy the band had on their first two records – the ones that brought them deserved scene attention. Luckily, on How It Feels To Be Lost, the band appears to be energized once again.
While the band is preparing to release their highly-anticipated return to form album How It Feels To Be Lost a week from now, Sleeping With Sirens unfortunately will be doing so without drummer Gabe Barham, who helped to found the band back in 2009. The drummer, who had been with SWS since the very beginning a decade ago, and the band parted ways via an official statement on socials.
Currently touring all summer on Rockstar Energy’s Disrupt Tour, Sleeping With Sirens are marking 2019 as a return to form of sorts with their new single, “Leave It All Behind”. The band is currently playing shows with Four Year Strong, Circa Survive, Thrice, and of course, The Used. The tour, which has been one of the best Warped Tour replacements in 2019, still has plenty of dates left.
Over the weekend, fans got a special treat when SWS vocalist Kellin Quinn joined The Used on stage to perform “A Box Full Of Sharp Objects” on the tour, just a couple months after tweeting that he wanted to play “Take It Away” with the band. Depending on who you ask, of course, this may have turned out even better.
