Happiness In Slavery: Revisiting Nine Inch Nails’ harsh 1992 masterpiece, “Broken”

Nine Inch Nails likely did more for industrial rock and metal than any other band, both from a critical and commercial standpoint. While their magnum opus is often considered 1994’s The Downward Spiral, preceding that landmark record was 1992’s Broken EP. The album is a short, yet effective burst of industrial metal that is still some of the angriest music put to tape. Trent Reznor was pissed.

Blink-182, Nine Inch Nails appear as answers on Jeopardy!

Jeopardy is one of the longest running game shows in history. The popular quiz show has been an evening staple since as long as almost anyone alive today can remember. Trent Reznor announces new album

I know people have been glued to their chairs waiting on any new news from Trent Reznor. Well, here you go:

“I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately. For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!”

— Trent Reznor, 5.28.13. New NIN album later this year on Columbia Records.

Keep a lookout for US tour dates for the upcoming 2013/2014 tour.
