This Day In Music History: October 12th, 2010 – Motionless In White releases debut album, ‘Creatures’

On this day in 2010, Motionless In White got their start with their debut full-length, Creatures. The album acts as a sort of ‘bridge’ album between the commercial success of early to mid-2000’s metalcore (when bands like Eighteen Visions, Bleeding Through, and Atreyu were gaining commercial acceptance) and modern metalcore, to a point. That’s most signified in the band’s use of electronics to create a dark atmosphere, but also with having It Dies Today vocalist Nick Brooks (who were a big influence on MIW’s development) on standout track “Abigail”.

Motionless In White to release reworked version of their hit song, “Another Life”

While the band has been teasing their new material to be “way heavier”, Motionless In White have been enjoying a huge album success with last year’s Disguise. While the more commercial direction of the band may have bothered a section of the fanbase, it’s pretty clear that Motionless In White continue to see their burgeoning fanbase explode. With seemingly every single the band releases managing to nail down some radio play, it’s not a surprise that the next bit of music you’ll likely hear from Motionless In White is likely to be one you’re already familiar with.

Motionless In White are working on “way heavier” new music, according to Chris Motionless

Pinch us if you’ve heard this before. Band _____ is working on “heavier”, “mature”, and/or “melodic” new music. They’re all buzzwords that industryheads and musicians alike enjoy using as descriptors, but in reality, do they really mean much? No matter. Motionless In White are one such band that you wouldn’t be surprised to hear going in a “heavier” direction, a year after the release of their successful album Disguise. However, with a plethora of tour dates the band had to cancel in the wake of the coronavirus, perhaps there is something for vocalist Chris Motionless to be angry about.

Beartooth & Motionless In White announce “Diseased And Disguised” co-headlining tour for early 2020

Motionless In White and Beartooth have announced a co-headline tour set for January 2020. The “Diseased & Disguised Tour” kicks off January 4 in Seattle, Washington and runs through January 30 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Additional support bands will be made known in the coming weeks.
