Big, big news from one of heavy music’s new vanguards. Left Behind are dropping their 3rd full-length album, No One Goes To Heaven, on November 15, 2019 via Pure Noise Records. The band has also shared a brand new video for lead single, “Peeling Wax,” which features Matt Honeycutt of Kublai Khan. Channeling the likes of Crowbar and even Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, vocalist Zac Hatfield puts on one of the best performances of his career on the new track, which is awfully impressive for a band that’s already proven their worth.
While there’s sadly a plethora of formerly interesting bands now attempting to appeal to the lowest common denominator via lazy songwriting and lack of inspiration, there’s plenty of exciting acts that are rising from their local scenes to tour with known quantities. Some, like Knocked Loose, seemingly did so overnight – while others, like Code Orange, took more of a slow burning route to get nominated for Grammy awards.
No matter which way you slice it, if you’re a fan of hardcore, metalcore, grindcore, or really any heavy music subgenre, there’s plenty of exciting acts coming around. On this first edition of Notes From Underground, we’re bringing you the best the underground has to offer. Strap yourselves in and discover something new today.
Left Behind toured 2017 with some big names in hardcore including Kublai Khan and Terror while also headlining their own tours. With their second full length release though I truly caught into just how good Left Behind’s brand of heavy riff based hardcore is.
You really can’t make this up. Joined by Purgatory, Heavens Die, and Strengthen What Remains, powerhouse West Virginia metalcore band Left Behind took advantage of a stalled show at a local venue to play their set in a nearby foodmart. You can view the video and a statement about how it went down below.
