Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive have announced a massive co-headline tour, dubbed “Collapse the World”, in Spring 2019. The tour is kicking off on April 18 in San Francisco and running through May 16 in Milwaukee. After The Burial will appear in the lineup as a support act. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, December 21 at 10am local time.
It’s pretty well known that Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach has his roots in the hardcore and punk scenes, attending his first hardcore show at 14, and never really looking back. A cursory look at his social medias shows that the roots run very, very deep – and even at 40 years of age, his love for those scenes have clearly never faded.
While Killswitch Engage puts the finishing touches on a brand new record (which will be their first since 2016), Jesse recently took in an Agnostic Front show at the famous Blackthorn 51 in Elmhurst, New York – and he got front and center in the action. For him, this is therapy – and we think any fan of metal, hardcore, punk rock, or outsider subculture can probably agree, as well.
Having recently posted a litany of things about former vocalist Howard Jones, who filled his shoes after originally leaving the band after Alive Or Just Breathing was released, Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach has certainly been busy, playing shows with the legends in Iron Maiden, and recording a brand new KSE record as well.
Having parted ways with the band just a few years ago (and subsequently forming his new project, Light The Torch), former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones has been a busy man, to be sure. Meanwhile, Killswitch Engage is working on the follow-up to 2016’s well-received Incarnate record.
The news is even better now for Killswitch Engage fans who’ve always wanted to see both Jesse and Howard feature on a track. Jesse Leach just posted a photo of Howard in the studio with Adam and himself, with multiple hashtags including #thesignalfiresalight, presumably a song title from the band’s upcoming new record. Needless to say, this news will make fans really, really happy. It should be known that Howard and Jesse on the same Killswitch Engage song has happened before – on the Roadrunner United 25th anniversary show, no less – but seeing them together on a brand new track sounds like a good time.
