Australian metalcore band In Hearts Wake reveal surprise acoustic EP, “Ark Prevails”

Australian metalcore band In Hearts Wake have surprised us all again with the release of a new acoustic EP, Ark Prevails. The 4-song EP, which was hidden in the original 2017 Ark album booklet, is out now, and contains a shockingly good cameo appearance from Dream State vocalist CJ Giplin on “Arrow”. That is a band to watch, too.

Photo/Video Set: Warped Tour 2016 – Pomona, CA & Phoenix, AZ

Vans Warped Tour is one of those legendary festivals that always hosts some of the best bands in the rock/metal/hardcore scene. Warped 2016 was no exception by the slightest! It was filled with good times, friends, bands, mosh pits, stage dives, high fives, fun in the sun & great memories among other things. I had the opportunity to cover both the Pomona, CA & Phoenix, AZ dates of the tour.

Below is a recap video of both days along with photo galleries of the bands: Volumes, Every Time I Die, The Color Morale, Chelsea Grin, Whitechapel, Vanna, Waka Flocka, Motionless In White, Gideon, Oceans Ate Alaska, Veil of Maya, In Hearts Wake & Cruel Hand.

Jake Taylor, vocalist of In Hearts Wake, recently stepped in to save a fan at the Dallas stop of this year’s Warped Tour.

In The Spotlight: Jake Taylor (In Hearts Wake) Talks USA Debut, Album Artwork

When I found out Byron Bay, Australia metalcore upstarts In Hearts Wake were finally making their debut USA appearance, I was pretty excited. Even better, I was able to see them when they came through Tampa, Florida, and I couldn’t have been much more impressed. They played like a band that’s ready to hit the big time (much like the attention countrymen Northlane and Amity Affliction are receiving in the USA right now), and it was even better to see a horde of fans singing along to every word of their music. There’s many things that are intensely attractive about the band – mainly that they care just as much about their artwork, lyrics, and message, as much as they do about their music.

I was able to talk one-on-one with vocalist Jake Taylor of IHW, where we discussed some important things, like concept albums, their experiences in the USA and Canada so far, and the kind of fan support that’s helped them out so far on this journey. Check it out after the jump, along with their music video for “Divine”.
