Having played it live at Emo Nite late last year, From First To Last have revealed a new studio version of their song, “Surrender”. While there’s no indication there will be new tour dates or an album released, it’s certainly intriguing news for fans who grew up listening to the band. Check it out below!
Notably, this is the band’s second new song since Skrillex (Sonny Moore) rejoined the band last year, after originally leaving the band in 2007 to become one of the world’s most successful and prominent electronic musicians. It’s still crazy to think that happened.
It’s been almost a year since From First To Last released a new song, “Make War”, that came out of seemingly nowhere. While it was unclear whether or not anything outside of the one song would surface, we now have another answer.
After Matthew Good announced that a new song would be leaked at Los Angeles Emo Nite: Day, they actually did the damn thing by livestreaming a new track, “Surrender”. It’s the first song released in almost a year, and while we’re still in the dark about how a From First To Last reunion would work considering the band members’ busy schedules, it’s clear that there is a lot of excitement surrounding FFTL right now. And according to an unconfirmed screenshot that surfaced that was passed to us by a source, it appears both Derek and Sonny have rejoined the band for good. We’ll pass along more info as it’s made public.
The official From First To Last Instagram page has confirmed that DJ & former vocalist Skrillex aka Sonny Moore is back in the band. Their Instagram page bio tags all of the members, which reads as: “@skrillex @mattg00d @travisrichter Derek Bloom”. You can also hear their brand new track “Make War” below.
It sure sounds and looks like it. The song is called “Make War”, and was posted directly from Sonny’s Twitter account. If true, this would be pretty crazy, considering Sonny’s successful career as Skrillex. Check out the song below, it sounds straight out of 2006, and it also sounds great.
