Amidst the celebration of Sumerian Records and their 10 year anniversary this year, Born Of Osiris’s debut record The New Reign is also approaching its 10 year anniversary next year. A groundbreaking fusion of deathcore and the tech-metal they would later perfect on future releases, it remains a seminal album in the music scene overall. Given the popularity of 10-year anniversary tours, it would make sense for them to tease something like this. Our friends at New Transcendence have come across something that might be confirming this news.
A massive tour has just been announced by record label Sumerian Records which features the following bands from their roster: Asking Alexandria, Born of Osiris, I See Stars, After The Burial, Upon A Burning Body & Bad Omens. The tour is celebrating 10 years of Sumerian Records as a label. Flyer Below:
As we mentioned in a previous article (which you can find below), Sumerian Records is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year. Obviously the label has had many influential and successful releases, but one of their earliest successes was Born Of Osiris’ The New Reign. It’s not necessarily their best record (IMO The Discovery and A Higher Place are better albums, but TNR remains both an influential (if short) and much-loved album to their fans.
That same album turns 10 in 2017, and the band recent teased online the possibility of both remastering and playing it live in full on tour. You can check out a statement from the band below, as well as our previous article highlighting the most important releases in Sumerian Records history.
