In The Spotlight: Post-hardcore upstarts I Hate Heroes premiere new video, “Alive”

Color us highly impressed by “Alive”, the new single from post-hardcore band I Hate Heroes. While the band’s name admittedly may remind you of about 20 other bands, I Hate Heroes channel both pop-punk and metallic post-hardcore in almost equal measure. The A Day To Remember influence is blatantly obvious upon the first listen to “Alive”, but that’s certainly not a bad thing at all. However, I Hate Heroes differentiate themselves from like-minded bands by incorporating impressive metal guitar. Seriously, listen to the beginning of “Alive” – it really sets the tone for the whole song.

The band’s new record, Save Yourself, drops September 4th – and if this new single is anything to go by, fans of post-hardcore and pop-punk will find plenty to sink their teeth into. Certainly a band to keep on the collective radar, indeed.

Sweet Ascent premieres hilarious new music video for “Alive”

There’s a few things that catch my attention as a music listener. Does the band have a catchy song? I’m game. Meaningful lyrics? I’m usually sold. A hilarious music video with a catchy song? Sign me up. Essentially, that’s what rock band Sweet Ascent is going for in their new music video for “Alive”.
