After releasing obscure teaser after obscure teaser, we finally have the entire song! “The Negative One” is the first track to be released off of Slipknot’s upcoming album.
Clips of strange videos with sound bits have been posted to the band’s Facebook page with no further explanation, but I had my suspicions that the big announcement would be a new song. Especially, since Corey Taylor previously stated in an interview that the new album was “98 percent done.”
Taylor also stated that the new album would go back to the sound of their older albums and from the sound of this track, he wasn’t lying. They definitely went back to their roots with this one and I could not be happier.
