2017 might be known as one of the best years the deathcore genre has seen in quite a while. Albums from Aversions Crown, Oceano, and Shadow Of Intent have all gained some serious commercial and critical acceptance, both from the critics themselves as well as loyal fans. You can add Slaughter To Prevail’s debut full length Misery Sermon to that list, too – while the album doesn’t necessarily break new ground, it’s a solid example of “deathcore done right”.
Alex Terrible, famed vocalist for Slaughter To Prevail, has certainly gained attention for his absolutely plastering vocal range. But now he’s taken his talents to a new level with a rather poignant letter to both his fanbase and the struggling that many bands go through – no matter how big they may eventually get.
