Progressive metal band, Monuments have released a tremendous track from their upcoming album, “The Amanuensis,” that is calm and beautiful one second and brutally crushing the next.
The range in not only vocal style, but all around musical style offered on this track is nothing less than phenomenal. Chris Barretto, Ex-Periphery vocalist, is the perfect addition to Monuments, and in my opinion, exactly what the line up was missing. Packed with guttural lows, ripping screams, djent-styled guitars, dissonant guitar licks, and clean melodies, “I, The Creator” is an enticing glimpse into what may be one of the top releases of the year. I’m sure I won’t be alone in counting down the days until “The Amanuensis” drops, which will be on June 23rd in Europe/Australia/New Zealand, and on July 8th in the US and Canada.
