If there’s one thing that’s undeniable in 2017’s rock scene, it’s that boundaries are being pushed everyday, and many bands are broadening their creative horizons.
In some cases it doesn’t work very well, and in other cases… you end up with bands such as Crossfaith or Enter Shikari.
These two bands have quite a lot in common : their blending of extreme music (metalcore for Crossfaith, punk-metal-rock-rap-etc for Enter Shikari) with electronic elements is extremely on point and has earned them a large audience, both of them have a constantly evolving discography, and they both released a new song today!
But these common points aren’t stopping there, as Crossfaith’s new single is featuring Enter Shikari’s Rou Reynolds, and guess what… It’s good!
Both songs sound fresh in the bands’ catalog, Reynold’s addition is welcome as you clearly feel a Shikari vibe in Freedom (by Crossfaith), and Live Outside (by Enter Shikari) features classic ES elements (the gang vocals, those synths, and Rou’s recognizable tone), thrown into a poppier sound, which isn’t a bad thing.
Whether you like it or not, it’s always interesting to see that some bands take risks in order to achieve a sound that they are proud of, and isn’t it what art is all about ?

And in the meantime, Enter Shikari annonced the release of their next album, The Spark, out 22nd September.
