At the end of 2019, My Chemical Romance returned from a 6+ year hiatus – sparking a flame into former scene kids’ hearts that they may have forgotten existed. While the band’s 2020 is certainly packed with shows worldwide, one thing their return has also spawned is plenty of covers. While not all of these renditions are terribly impressive, we sure found one that is a few days ago.
Current Monuments, WVNDER, and Makari vocalist Andy Cizek, whose cover of “Medicine” made viral airwaves around this time last year, is a great example of how to nail a vocal cover and make it your own. It’s uncanny how the vocalist, whose versatility can be seen on his covers of Dance Gavin Dance and Linkin Park’s “Crawling”, manages to sound like Gerard Way. What do you think of the cover, though? You’ll also get the chance to hear him on tour with Monuments in just a few short months, too, so you won’t want to miss out on that.
