Music. Gaming. Nostalgia. Culture.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is a combination between innovative technology and gaming.

Microsoft Flight Simulator made it’s debut in the 1980s, quickly becoming not only a presentable piece of how far technology has come since the very first Microsoft Flight Simulator in 1982, but how far technology has come overall since 1982. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 does something no other game has ever done. It simulates planet Earth using Bing map data. Microsoft partnered up with Blackshark.ai who developed a solution that uses the Microsoft Azure cloud and artificial intelligence that analyzes map data and photogrammetry to generate photorealistic 3D models of buildings, trees, terrain, and essentially most of our world. This gave Microsoft the foundation to do something truly wonderful with one of their most beloved franchises among the PC community. Microsoft Flight Simulator goes beyond expectations with the latest entry. You pick a plane, you pick a spot on the planet you want to fly, and you fly there. Absorbing all that planet Earth has to offer, digitally. This game is truly a one of kind therapeutic experience, being able to fly and see almost any landmark in the world. There are some exemptions to this, not ALL the buildings are 100% accurate, some are AI generated. This however, does not seem to matter to fans as the ambitious game has gotten so much RIGHT. Not gonna lie, my house was pretty spot on though.

The game features a real-time interaction between you the player, and real world flights. There is a multiplayer, and you can see other players fly around the vast open world. You’ll find more players in certain spots across the world though, such as hotspots. Microsoft Flight Simulator puts the highest budget pc to the test with the immense amount of detail and geographical data being intertwined in this beautiful game. The game is fairly optimize and will get better throughout it’s life, making playing on lower end machines not impossible. The game also features real-time weather, and present weather if real-time isn’t your thing. The game features a very dynamic day/night cycle that simulates what we experience on Earth. Microsoft Flight Simulator is out now for PC and coming soon to Xbox. You can get the game through Xbox Game Pass.
