It’s been a long wait for Lamb Of God fans to hear new music from the critically adored metal band. Having had theirHaving debuted new drummer Art Cruz in 2018 to replace Chris Adler, Lamb Of God certainly have a new look about them. And while the band has long been known for taking a few years in between each album cycle, it seems the wait for new LOG music might not be far off. In fact, according to guitarist Mark Morton, a new Lamb Of God record should be out in the first half of the year.

Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton spoke on Sirius XM’s radio show Trunk Nation, where the guitarist (who also released a solo EP this month, and his debut solo album last year) was asked if the band’s new album was finished. Morton offered this in response (special thanks to Lambgoat for the translation):

“We’ve got new music coming soon. And I really, really couldn’t be more excited about it. There’s a whole fresh new energy in the band. It’s our first recordings with Art [Cruz]. Art’s been playing drums with us now for a couple of years, but these are our first songs that we’ve written and recorded with him there. And it’s just a thrill to see these things come to life. And I couldn’t be happier with how the record is turning out, and I’m excited for the world to hear that. There’s gonna be a lot of touring around that, so we’re gonna be super busy on the road.”

Morton also noted that the upcoming album is more or less “done”, saying:

“I’m done with it, that’s for sure. I’m pretty sure [everyone else in the band is] done with it too. I think it’s been printed at this point. I think the last mixes and masters are printed.”

The upcoming Lamb Of God album will be the band’s first since 2015’s well-received VII: Sturm und Drang. As noted earlier, it’ll also be the band’s first new material with drummer Art Cruz. The band nailed down their second Gold-certified album, Sacrament, last year as well.
