EP Review: As The World Weeps – “OS:OD”

I had the opportunity to check out OS:OD, the EP from Miami Progressive Metal band, As the World Weeps, and it is crushing!

With the opening track, “Cycles,” the EP heads in the right direction. In just two minutes it does a pretty thorough job of depicting what the forthcoming songs will entail– an intriguing blend of melody and pure heaviness.

More and more promising metal acts are emerging from Miami, such as Abiotic who signed with Metal Blade Records, and As The World Weeps is no exception.

While OS:OD does vary in sound between in-your-face metal riffage and beautiful melodies, it does not relent in aggression.

As The World Weeps is one of the most promising bands of South Florida and have everything it takes to make it.

Favorite track: Patterns. The guitars are what make this song for me. Perfectly executed and brimming with technicality.
