Double Review: Brian Wahlstrom/Chris Cresswell “One Week” Albums

one week recordsI’m going to do something a little different with this review. I will be doing a double review of 2 records that One Week Records just recently released.

First off, I want to give you a little info on what One Week Records is all about. The label was started by Lagwagon/Bad Astronaut frontman Joey Cape. All albums will consist of 10 songs and be recorded in 7 days. That means, each album will not be over produced and will be a raw and intimate release.

Ok, onto the reviews:

One Week

Piano Rock

One Week Records

Released: May 16, 2014

Rating: 10/10

I don’t normally give out a rating of 10 but this album is purely perfect! If you are looking for a rock album with great lyrics and all around awesome sound, this album you better already own or at least, be planning on buying it. I really enjoy listening to Brian Wahlstrom (go pick up Scorpios – S/T) and this release really makes him shine. You would never guess that it was recorded in just 7 days. It is REALLY hard to pick any favorites on this album because every song has it’s powerful moments BUT if you want to get a good sample of how awesome this release is, check out the songs “Blue Screen Light” and “The Sky Is Falling”. They are both very dynamic songs and it will be a great first impression for you. I hope at this very moment, you are wondering where you can pick this album up at? Well, just click HERE and you can buy a digital copy.

Acoustic Rock

One Week Records

Released: May 16th, 2014

Rating: 10/10

And again, another 10/10 rating!! I listen to a lot of acoustic albums and this one is by far my favorite and will be for quite some time. Chris’ voice is spectacular on every single song and his acoustic guitar playing is magnificent and really brings another element to his voice. I actually have no real words to bring to this release because talking about it does not do it justice and deserves to be bought and played on whatever device you play music on. Take it as it’s a perfectly done album and buy it HERE.
