South Park, the long-running animated show now in its 23rd season, has certainly had its share of musical guest stars over the years. Korn appeared on the show at the peak of their popularity in 1999, and the likes of DMX, Joe Strummer, and many more have guest starred in the series as well. That being said, there’s never really been a high-profile appearance by an extreme metal band – at least until both Death Decline and acclaimed death metal veterans Dying Fetus were featured in the most recent episode of the show.
Granted, the appearance wasn’t of the bands themselves, but the music of both bands did indeed. Dying Fetus’ “Second Skin”, which appears on their 2012 album Reign Supreme, as well as Death Decline, appeared on the episode called “Band In China”. Essentially the plot is this – Stan Marsh launches a band called Crimson Dawn, and they play death metal. Fun times. Watch the clip below – needless to say, this is probably amazing publicity for both bands.
