Since The Goat House in Odessa, Florida opened its doors for the first time in 2013, it felt like a second home for anyone who walked through its doors. Its refreshing lack of scene posturing and sense of unity is a Central Florida hallmark. Sadly, it is closing its doors tonight, February 20th, for the final time. Read on below for some colorful anecdotes, quotes from bands and fans who were a part of it, and some of the history behind how everything got started. We got our start covering a few of their bigger shows there (Real Friends once headlined here on Halloween), so the demise of the venue is even more sad for us.
We recently had the opportunity to shoot a bunch of stellar bands at Run Your Mouth Festival in Fort Myers. One of our resident photographers, Sarah Gordon, took some awesome shots. Check everything out below.
Malice – EP
September 3, 2015
Tampa boys Agerasia have dropped one of the most intense comeback EP’s I’ve seen come out of this local scene in a good minute. After multiple member changes and trimming the lineup down from the original 7 to the current 4, this band has finally found its groove.
Haling from Bradenton, Fla, the talented men of Adaliah (Mediaskare Records) have released a heavy hitting and very emotional music video for their single Death’s Counterfeit. This song comes off of their newest album ‘Shedding Skin’ which was released at the end of 2014. Along with this music video they will be heading out on a month long tour beginning in August with King Conquer, Dealey Plaza and Here Comes The Kraken.
