Cursed Sails, who refer themselves as “The Rake Crew” and “The Georgia Bad Boys”, is a recently formed metalcore band that is signed to Velocity/Rise Records. They just put out their debut album “ROTTEN SOCIETY” on 05/13/14. Members including: brothers Ben and Cory Ferris (Ex-Woe Is Me and Issues members) as well as Brent Guistwite and Omar Magana.
With unique vocals, great instrumentals, and very blunt/tell it like it is lyrics, this album is definitely one of a kind. After listening to the album in entirety, you will find each and every song very catchy and will find yourself singing along after a while especially the lyrics “Live Fast, Die Young” found in their song “Thunderbird”. The songs that stood out the most on the album would have to be “Smart Ass” and “The Great Gold Rush”.
I also had the chance to see them live and met them on May 16th. I’ll tell you this – Cursed Sails puts on a killer show and they are one of the nicest bands I have had the pleasure of meeting!
“ROTTEN SOCIETY” may not be everyones favorite, but I give this debut album a rating of 8/10.
