Over 20,000 people just watched a Trivium livestream – here’s why it’s a big deal

They’re no strangers to using the medium to communicate and interact with their fans, but Trivium continuing to bet on themselves is awfully impressive. While the long-running Florida metal band have utilized Twitch and social media to great effect (unlike many of their veteran peers), Trivium’s The Deepest Cuts performance over the weekend was still an unqualified success. Considering the stream topped out at over 20,000 viewers at one point, that’s awfully impressive. And considering the uncertainty of live music returning anytime soon (at least in the USA – unless you’re the Chainsmokers), these sorts of streams will be the new norm for the immediate future.

Meet nu-metalcore newcomers Half Me

Half Me is a new nu-metalcore group that packs quite the heat. The band takes influences from bands like Crystal Lake, The Gloom In The Corner, Dealer, and Alpha Wolf – you get the idea. Half Me has kept their quality throughout each release, meaning each release stands next to the others firmly. Half Me wrote their newest song ‘Mantis’ with plenty of dark emotions. The song touches based with the feeling of dealing with prolonged mental suffering that comes with the loss of a love one to suicide. ‘Mantis’ puts into fruition the feelings of helplessness and uselessness that comes with not being able to help a loved one overcome their suffering. Half Me appeared on the scene of October 2019 with their song ‘Firewalk’. Fast forward to February 2020, and the band releases their second song ‘Livebait’. Half Me captures a high energy aggressive take on the nu-metalcore genre. Half Me does a very good job at showcasing their talent throughout the 3 released songs out now!
