Dead/Awake takes it up a notch with brand new song “Deicide” – listen!

Illinois deathcore quintet Dead/Awake have been making quite the name for themselves – after having released the first single since their successful debut self-titled album. The self-titled album was released in late 2019 through We Are Triumphant and saw impressive numbers that is now hitting over 600k Spotify streams. In the constantly evolving world of music Dead/Awake has proved they have what it takes to keep up with the ever-changing aspects, this proves especially true with their newest song “Deicide”. The aggressive track takes Dead/Awake to the next level, pushing themselves further. The song features the beloved The Gloom In The Corner and was premiered through Chugcore with the support of We Are Triumphant. Dead/Awake have quickly established themselves through the last year, gaining traction in their respected scene. The Ghost Inside reach their “Pressure Point” with aggressive new single

A couple weeks after announcing their triumphant musical return with their first new song in 6 years, The Ghost Inside have released another new song, “Pressure Point”. With a title like that, it won’t let you down if you’re looking for the more aggressive side of The Ghost Inside, too.

“Almost all TGI songs take the listener on a journey from dark to light or from despair to hope,” explains bassist Jim Riley. “On this record we made a conscious effort to let individual songs explore different emotions we’ve been experiencing and not force them to have a positive turn. We feel like the album as a whole will give you that hopeful feeling, even though a song like ‘Pressure Point; might not do that by itself. Instead we embraced being pissed off and let it pour out through some of the most aggressive and pointed lyrics we’ve ever had. We try to avoid cursing in our songs but sometimes you’re just so fed up that nothing less than a big loud fuck will get the job done.“

Thousand Below to release new acoustic + reimagined EP

San Diego post-hardcore band Thousand Below put themselves on the map with a strong debut in 2017’s The Love You Let Too Close, and while last year’s follow-up Gone In Your Wake wasn’t quite as strong, the young band does have a strong foundation in place -especially with an emotive vocalist in James DeBerg. Supporting tours with The Devil Wears Prada, Veil Of Maya, and Dance Gavin Dance early on certainly bodes well for the band’s future, as well.

That’s why the news that the band is set to release an acoustic + reimagined EP is so exciting. Of course, this isn’t the first time the band has attempted something like this – see the band’s reimagining of “Tradition” below for a good example – but we’re pretty stoked nonetheless. The news of the upcoming EP was confirmed by the band themselves, so look for it sometime soon.
