Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Cailin Russo returns today with the release of a brand new single, “DECLARATION.” Drenched in hazy 80s guitars, foot-stomping percussion and bassline, “DECLARATION” is a fierce statement and an exciting taste of things to come. A gentle coo cruises over a thudding beat between echoes of guitar as she candidly admits, “This is the declaration of a fuck up, a product of how I was raised, and I don’t expect a single teardrop. Whoa, I am ashamed.”
With All Hallows’ Eve and the Day of the Dead already over with, the L.A.-based thrash/death/shred quartet EXMORTUS have unveiled a visualizer for the title track for their just-released horror-themed EP “Legions of the Undead.”
We’re stoked to be bringing you yet another heavy band on a Monday. Whether or not you’ve heard of California metallic hardcore newcomers Arcline is more or less irrelevant. Once you’re heard their new single “Johnny Cage”, though, we think you’ll be convinced they’re the real deal. We’ll be brief. If you love any of the metallic/thrash/hardcore bands on the Upstate Records roster, you know, bands that might he similar to Madball, Hoods, Leeway, and most other thrash-influenced hardcore bands, you’re going to love this one.
Even better is that their upcoming EP was produced by Taylor Young, who’s a member of Twitching Tongues, and way too many other bands to name in terms of production (True Love, Criminal Instinct, etc). Good stuff. Fans of this style will certainly be intrigued by their new EP and what Arcline have going on, to be sure.
